The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce our endorsement of Lindsay James for U.S. Congress, District 2 in the upcoming Democratic primary election to be held on June 2, 2026. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Ms. James is currently serving her fourth term in the Iowa House as the representative for District 71. She is a minister who has served a number of congregations and is the co-founder of The Loras College Peace Institute where she served as director. In the Iowa legislature, Lindsay worked across party lines to found Iowa’s first bipartisan bicameral caucus. She also worked to expand access to insulin and fought for fair and safe housing for her constituents.

Representative James has a history of fighting for affordable housing and mental health care as an advocate for her constituents. In Congress, she will fight for good paying jobs, high quality affordable and accessible health care, strong schools, as well as clean water and a healthy environment. The Coalition believes she is the best candidate to represent the second Congressional district and is proud to support her.
