Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Angel Ramirez for Re-Election To Iowa House District 78

The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce our endorsement of Angel Ramirez for re-election to Iowa House District 78 in the upcoming general election to be held on November 3, 2026. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Ms. Ramirez was first elected to the Iowa House in a special election in 2025 and is the first Latina to be elected to the Iowa General Assembly. She graduated from Coe College with a degree in political science and social and criminal justice. Representative Ramirez is a co-founder and the executive director of Our Future, a nonprofit fellowship program for emerging leaders in the Cedar Rapids region. She also serves as president of the board of Advocates for Social Justice.

Angel Ramirez has demonstrated a commitment to serving the people of her district. She has fought for making Iowa an affordable place to live including accessible, affordable health care for all. Representative Ramirez is part of a new generation of leaders determined to deliver real results for the communities she serves.
