Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Jon Green for Re-Election as Johnson County Supervisor, District 2

The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Jon Green for re-election as Johnson County Supervisor, District 2 in the upcoming Democratic primary election to be held on June 2, 2026. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.
Supervisor Green was first elected in June 2021 in a special election to fill the seat vacated by former supervisor Janelle Retti. He won re-election in 2022 and serves as chair of the board of supervisors. He previously served as Lone Tree mayor from 2018 to 2019. Jon attended Morningside College in Sioux City, earning a BA in mass communication in 2007. In 2009, when Jon was a newspaper reporter in Wyoming, the Democratic Governor, Dave Freudenthal, hired him as his press secretary. He most recently worked as a systems administrator in information technology.
Jon Green has shown himself to be a dedicated and passionate leader. He has worked to protect the public safety of Johnson county and ensure basic human rights and dignity are preserved. He will continue to fight for decent, affordable housing, accessible county services, and a sustainable environment.
