Iowa Unity Coalition Endorses Fannette Elliott for West Des Moines City Council At-Large

The Iowa Unity Coalition is proud to announce the endorsement of Fannette Elliott for West Des Moines City Council At-Large in the upcoming special election to be held on February 17, 2026. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government.


Fannette Elliott has lived in West Des Moines for 35 years and was born in Valley Junction. She is currently serving her second term on the West Des Moines School Board. She graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in telecommunications.


Ms. Elliott will advocate for a new sense of partnership between citizens and policymakers. She will work to stimulate construction of affordable housing, increase safety of residents and elevate West Des Moines as a caring and welcoming community. As a local leader, Fannette Elliott has demonstrated her commitment to the community and serving the needs of all residents
