The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Dr. Vergarie Sanford for Iowa House District 19 in the upcoming Democratic primary election to be held on June 7, 2022. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and underrepresented communities at every level of government. 

Dr. Sanford is a lifelong Iowan running in her hometown of Council Bluffs. She is an ordained minister and has long served as a youth pastor and mentor at Mount Zion Refuge Center Church in Council Bluffs. Dr. Sanford also serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska in Omaha and is the Vice Chair on the Board for Directors for Centro Latino in Council Bluffs.
