The Iowa Unity Coalition is pleased to announce the endorsement of Armel Traore Dit Nignan

for re-election to the Waukee School Board in the upcoming election to be held on November

4, 2025. The Iowa Unity Coalition is dedicated to building political power within our diverse and

underrepresented communities at every level of government.

Armel is a proud immigrant from Burkina Faso in West Africa and is married with 2 children. He

is the head of data and analytics at Principal Asset Management and has been active in the

Waukee School District in addition to serving on the board. Armel has been recognized as one

of the Business Records “40 Under 40” Class of 2022 and is a graduate of the Greater Des

Moines Leadership Institute. Additionally, he has volunteered as a mentor for the Youth

Leadership Initiative. The Coalition believes his experience in the district will continue to be of

great value and his background as an immigrant and person of color will help move the district

forward in equity and diversity issues.
